The Wonderful Adventures of Phra the Phoenician, first published by Harper and Brothers in 1890 is an historical fantasy novel by Edwin Lester Arnold that follows Phra, a Phoenician merchant, who gains immortality through a mysterious, death-like sleep that repeatedly transports him through different periods of English history, witnessing key events like Roman and Norman invasions and serving figures from Caesar to Queen Elizabeth I.
